Summer Lightfoot received her M.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict and Security from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School and her B.A. in International Studies, Photography, and Chinese language from CUNY in New York City. She grew up in the Hudson Valley in a small New York town called Pine Bush. She likes working and collaborating with like-minded people and photographers and likes to document the lives of others. Summer aspires to use documentary photography along with research and to capture different groups of people.

She currently works as at the New York Public Library in NYC.
